Vintage Mattel Patootie clown talking doll dating to 1965–1966. Patootie features a stuffed soft body with molded vinyl head and hands, painted blue, red, black and pink facial details, and pink-painted fingernails. He wears a period-appropriate replacement patterned clown romper with ruffled collar and a red felt pointed hat with orange yarn hair and white pom. Mattel references identify Patootie as a 16-inch stuffed pull-string talking clown introduced in this period, with surviving original labels dated 1965.
Good vintage condition; body and painted facial features present well for age. Voice box remains inside but pull cord is broken/missing, so talking function is not operational. Original sad-face mask and original clothing are not included. Current patterned romper and hat are period-appropriate replacements. No manufacturer label remains.
Mattel — attribution based on identification as Patootie; original sewn label is missing. The Patootie trademark was owned by Mattel and documented as in use by August 1965.
